HNC Early Education and Childcare students benefited from a specially organised event recently which featured a talk from an industry professionals.
Alan Easton, the acting deputy at Stirling Council’s Hillview Nursery in Cultenhove, Stirling was delighted to lead the way at the event held at the Stirling Campus on Tuesday 20 February.
Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) - the national approach to improving outcomes and supporting the wellbeing of children and young people at the right time from the right people - was one of the main topics on the agenda for the 60 students who attended.
Care, Health and Sport Lecturer Lesley Colville, said: “This event is organised this every year for the students to keep them up to date with current industry trends and it is also something they can discuss at interviews and feel competent in. We also bring in Carolyn Love, Education Development Officer, Early Years and Early Intervention with Stirling Council, to push recruitment to supply lists and to give mock interviews in April and May. Events like this will help the students prepare for going into the workplace.”
