Cutting edge oven technology is being trialled in Forth Valley College’s Gallery Training kitchen.

Falcon Foodservice Equipment’s latest induction hob cooker product is currently being used by staff and students as a special taster on the ovens which are in prime position to be installed in the kitchens of the new Falkirk Campus – which is due for completion in 2019.

The new oven gives energy and heat on demand and enables the temperature to remain the same in all parts of the oven – which can be extremely useful in a professional kitchen.

FVC Chef Manager Ype van der Schaaf, said:

“The trial has been going well and our students and staff have been happy using this new Falcon oven in the Gallery Restaurant. All going well, these ovens could be installed in the kitchens in the new campus."

Shaune Hall, Product Development Chef, said:

“Falcon Foodservice Equipment is the UK’s leading catering equipment manufacturer with a history going back almost 200 years. Our Stirling based factory invests heavily in new product development. Although part of a global organisation, supporting local education and business operations remains part of our mission statement. As Product Development Chef for Falcon, and former Head Chef for FVC, I was very pleased with the trial reports returned.

“We are also grateful for the support of Ype and the department of Hospitality and Salon Services, as well as The Gallery. I am confident that the i91105C Induction Range will deliver and that the students and staff will benefit from using this modern unit of equipment.”
