English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) for Employability students have managed to raise £224.35 for the Quarriers charity in Falkirk.

The students held a tombola stall and also held a ‘A Day in Hollywood’ themed event recently in the Forth Valley College main hall in the Falkirk Campus. This event included food cooked by the students from their home countries with ingredients supplied by local shops, from their local communities.

There was also a quiz and music, and the event attracted around 150 staff and students from across the college. On the day many of those who attended got into the Hollywood spirit by dressing up as various characters and movie stars. Both events contributed to the students achieving a pass in their ‘Working with Others’ course unit.

Quarriers staff members Julie Williams and Catherine Harrison was presented with a cheque for the total amount by ESOL student Daniela Cespedes Celedon, on Wednesday 9 May.
