End of Year Art show opening soon

Forth Valley College’s celebrated degree and diploma art exhibition will open to the public at the Stirling Campus on Friday 31 May.

The show offers members of the public, students and staff the opportunity to check out work from the next generation of artists from the College’s Creative Industries Department. The free exhibition will be open to the public on Friday 31 May 10am-4pm, Monday 3 June 10am-4pm, Tuesday 4 June 10am-8.30pm, Wednesday 5 June 10am-4pm and Thursday 6 June 10am-4pm.

The show will highlight a wide range of media including art, design, photography, sculpture, installation, video and audio created by learners from the BA Art and Design (2nd and 3rd Years), HND Contemporary Art Practice (2nd Years),Visual Communications (2nd Years), HND Photography (2nd Years) and HND Art and Design (2nd Years), as well as highlighting the talent of students across courses in media and communication and sound production.

Kathrine Graham (19) from Dollar, Clackmannanshire is posing here with her work entitled ‘Organised Chaos’, consisting of a framed textile design, the strands show where life can lead.

Shonah Enscombe (53) from near Kippen, West Stirlingshire, shows off her glass work inspired by textures from her childhood, entitled ‘Tactile Nostalgia’.

Callum Milligan (21) from Kippen, West Stirlingshire, has compiled a series of hand developed black and white photographs of him as a child for his work entitled ‘Forgotten Memories’.

Kenny MacInnes, Principal of Forth Valley College, said: “As always, I am really looking forward to this year’s End of Year show as it is one of the College’s highlights of the year. It is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their work, which they have been creating over the last year and I encourage as many people as possible to come along and see for themselves the talent that Forth Valley College has developed a reputation for producing in this area.”
