Fantasy@Your Fingertips once again wowed a style loving crowd at Forth Valley College’s Alloa Campus recently (Wednesday 1 May).

A total of 36 students from the Salon Services Department including nine from Nail Enhancement and Design Techniques level 3, 16 HND Make-up artistry first year and 11 HND Make-up Artistry second year, produced the creative nail and make-up looks on the models and also built and designed the display sets.

Some of the first year Make-up Artistry students were paired with nail technicians to create the looks, while others worked on their own. Second year Make-up Artists were also working on creating film looks through the ages on each other, which added an extra dimension to the event this year.

They all chose different themes including: Woodland Fairy, Under the Sea, Cruel – Ella, Day of the Dead, 4 Seasons, Beautiful Monster, Voodoo Queen, Golden Goddess, Disney Mash Up, Ice Queen, Stone Statue, Delores O’Riordan, Sophisticat, ½ Khaleesi/ ½ White Walker, Geisha, Wind me Up, Ryuk, Marie Antoinette, Austin Powers, Flashdance, Great Gatsby and Pride & Prejudice.

FVC Salon Services Lecturer Kathryn Baird said: “This annual event was once again very successful. The students produced fantastic work on their models, which was clear within both the display sets they had built and the catwalk show.  A big thank you also goes to the models who gave up so much of their own time to help the students out. We also had a tombola, raffle and guess the Teddy’s birthday, raising a total of £400 for charity.

“As always, the students excelled themselves with their creativity and imagination. Every year the models and sets just get better and better.  Well done to them all, it’s a pleasure and a privilege to be involved.”
