  • NC Health and Social Care - Level 5

    This course is a great introduction the health and social care for anyone considering a career or further study in this area. The course is levelled at SCQF Level 5 and will introduce the student to the skills and knowledge required to be a successful practitioner in health and social care settings.

    Applicants will be shortlisted based on a good quality personal statement which is focused on career and/or study within health and social care.

    The applicant should possess the personal skills and qualities required to support people using care services such as being an effective communicator, patience, resilience, ability to cope with life’s stresses, kindness and a genuine passion to work with people.

  • Pathway to Health and Social Care - Level 6

    The Level 6 Pathways to Health and Social Care course aims to provide students with a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for careers in healthcare and social care. Successful completion of the course can prepare individuals to pursue further study at HNC (SCQF Level 7) or enter the workforce in roles such as healthcare assistants, social care workers, and other related positions.

    The course includes a one-day placement (seven hours) in a healthcare or social care setting. This hands-on experience allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, gain practical skills, and understand the day-to-day operations of healthcare and social care organisations. As well as course certification, students will also gain the SQA National Progression Award: Practical Skills on completion of the course

  • NQ Child, Health & Social Care - (Early Years Route)

    This course provides an introduction to early learning and childcare values and principles, whilst providing students with an excellent foundation in playwork, childcare and education. It will give students a general introduction to child development and enhance communication, numeracy and problem solving skills.

    On completion of this course, students will be aware of issues relating to young children and their families in society today.  It is ideal for people returning to education after a break or for people who wish to further their qualifications.

  • Numeracy for Health Care Intermediate 2 - Online Learning Course

    Numeracy for Health Care Int 2 is an online non accredited course, designed for those wishing to brush up on their numeracy skills prior to starting a nursing course at university.
     
    This unit is often recommended by universities as a condition of your enrolment on a nursing course. The unit takes an estimated  10 to 15 hours to complete and costs £40.00 (fee waivers do apply).  On completion a Forth Valley College Certificate is awarded.

  • Step into Health and Social Care (Includes Introduction to Early Years) (Stirling) Level 4

    This is a great starter course for anyone interested in a career working in support services or with children. The  SCQF Level 4 Health and Social Care course starting in Aug 2023 and completing  January 2024 includes personal development content aimed at increasing the students confidence and self-awareness, which are vital attributes for working in care.
