Lewis Brodie reckons the partnership course BSc Hons Software Development and Cyber Security at Forth Valley College is the ideal step to help him complete his degree at university.
Lewis (18) from Armadale is currently in his first year of the course, but is delighted that his first two years spent at FVC will prepare him to finish off his studies at the University of Stirling.
He said: “Forth Valley College will help you get to university and it gives you an idea of what is out there in industry and further study and I would definitely recommend it as the first step towards that.
“I was looking for a change of scenery and the College seemed like the best place to apply for a computing course. The facilities are very good – all brand new – and have not been well used, and the lecturers are very good too and easy to talk to.
“Coming to the College has helped me with my organisational skills and increased my focus on my studies. Meeting and speaking with classmates and people who are like minded helps as well and I am now doing something that is a passion for me.”
Lewis – who is currently in the first year of his degree - now hopes to go on to complete his HND at FVC, before moving on to complete his Hons degree at the University of Stirling.
He added: “The course covers a lot of new areas in software development and cyber security, which is great as these are precisely the areas I hope to build my career in and there are a lot of opportunities out there if you have a qualification such as this degree.
“It has been great so far and I another great aspect of the course is that I have met lots of new people and have made loads of new friends.”
