Students’ fingers do the talking and the walking at show
Fantasy @ Your Fingertips

Fantasy @ Your Fingertips once again wowed a style loving crowd at Forth Valley College’s Alloa Campus recently (Thursday 3 May).

A total of 25 students from the Salon Services Department including 14 first year HND Make-up Artistry students, eight second year Nail Services students and one first year from Nail Services, produced the creative nail and make-up looks on the models and built display sets.

Two second year Beauty Therapy students contributed to the event by carrying out some demonstrations and some of the make-up artists were paired with a nail tech to create the looks and while others worked on their own.

They all chose different themes including: Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend, Woodland Fairy, Neon Doll, Unicorn, A Stitch in Time, Galaxy, Carnival, Ice Queen, Under the Sea, Egyptian, Africa, Tim Burton Collection, Devils and Angels, Futuristic Masquerade Ball and Gypsy Burlesque.

FVC Salon Services Lecturer Beverley Robb, said: “The event was very successful. The students produced fantastic work on their models and this was exhibited within the display sets they had built and then later there was a catwalk show. We also had a tombola, raffle and some treatment demonstrations at the event and raised a total of £395 for Strathcarron Hospice.”

Colleague Kathryn Baird, said: “As always, the students excelled themselves with their creativity and imagination. Every year the models and sets just get better and better.  Well done to them all, it’s a pleasure and a privilege to be involved.”
