Sound Production students from Forth Valley College were masters of the sound at this year’s College Development Network (CDN) Marketing Awards.
Second year HND students Ben Inwood (21) from Sauchie, Luc Grindle (18) from Dunblane, Steven Graham (20) from Bo’ness and Iain Maxwell (19) from Callander (all pictured here), worked their magic at the event held at the Drygate Brewery in Glasgow on Thursday 15 March. They made sure the speakers and announcers could be heard on the PA system and also helping the musical entertainment act – Kahoots from New College Lanarkshire - express themselves perfectly on the night.
During the awards, Forth Valley College Communications and Marketing Department won the overall Grand Prix prize, golds in the Integrated Marketing Campaign and the Promotional Literature categories and lifted a Bronze award in the Students Award for Website category.
Carla Feuerstein, the Drygate Brewery’s Sound Engineer said: “I am very happy with their performance.”
Colin McGeoch, Curriculum Manager in the Department of Creative Industries, said: “All four students performed their duties perfectly well on the night and we are all very proud of the high standards and professionalism they showed. Live work experience such as this realty helps students to put the skills they learn at the college into practice and they will definitely reap the benefits of making sure the sound was pitch perfect at the CDN Awards.”
