Gym Assistant and former Forth Valley College student Sian Black is set to use her personal training skills to become a HIIT on the Isle of Islay.
Sian (22) from Falkirk– a former HND Fitness, Health and Exercise student – has been helping staff and students get fit in the Falkirk Campus gym for the past year – especially with her speciality half hour High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) sessions at lunchtimes.
However, she now feels the time is right to move on to pastures new along with her partner Tristan who has also taken a job in their new home.
Sian, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my year working at the Falkirk Campus gym and will miss everyone loads. The course I studied at the college gave me a great foundation to push on in my career and I was delighted to apply and secure the role of gym assistant.
“My boss Waimun Lee has been fantastic and has taught me a lot. He has been a great mentor to me and I can’t thank him enough for giving me this opportunity in the gym.
“I am looking forward to building a personal training business with Tristan on Islay and can’t wait to put my ideas into practice. I am sure I will find a place for the HIIT session I have been running with the regular gym class at lunchtimes. I will miss them all, but am sure they will keep training hard and keeping themselves fit without me. They have all inspired me to push on in my career and it has been a pleasure to work with everyone at the Falkirk Campus gym.”
Waimun Lee, FVC’s Leisure Facilities Coordinator, said: “I am really sad that Sian is leaving our Gym Team as she has been instrumental in motivating, encouraging and helping our Falkirk Campus gym users to reach their full fitness potential and most importantly to put the fun factor into all the workouts. It has been a pleasure mentoring her and passing on all my knowledge and experience gained over the years and I know that she will be going from strength to strength in pastures new. So look out fitness world - Sian is coming. I want to wish her and Tristan all the best for the future.”
