FA Taster event

High school pupils from across the Forth Valley area visited the College this week (Wednesday 6 February) to find out more about Foundation Apprenticeships in Engineering and Construction.

Balfour Beatty, Engineering Education Scheme (EDT) and FVC were all involved in the organisation of the FA Taster event which gave pupils the chance to find out more about the FA Programme and these two vital industries.

Pupils were also given a tour of the new Falkirk Campus building site at Middlefield by Balfour Beatty, who are overseeing the construction.

Health and safety was also a major focal point of the day and the students can be seen here receiving a briefing on the protective clothing they will be expected to wear when learning their trade or working on site.

The new Falkirk HQ will focus heavily on training facilities designed for science and technology, engineering, sport and healthcare, and will also have state-of-the-art provision and capabilities to accommodate a wide range of FVC’s courses.
