Care, Sport and Construction's new Director of Curriculum - Sarah Higgins-Rollo – was confirmed in her new role recently at Forth Valley College.
Sarah, who started at the Forth Valley College as a lecturer in social science in 2005 when FVC came into being as Scotland’s first merged college, had been acting up as head of department for several months in the absence of Hannah Ritchie, who has now left the College.
She spent five years teaching before taking on the promoted role of Curriculum Quality Leader in the Department of Community Services and Social Science. This led to her becoming a Curriculum Manager in the renamed department of Health and Social Care in 2012 and subsequently earned her current position as Director of Curriculum for one of the college’s four teaching Departments, in October 2020.
Sarah, who is also an Associate Assessor with Education Scotland, said: “I am delighted to officially take on the role of Director of Curriculum for Care, Sport and Construction and am looking forward to working with all of my colleagues in the department and throughout the entire college, to help continue the good work and success we have had over the last few years.
“I am very excited at the prospect of what we can achieve in my department and have been very proud of all my colleagues over the very challenging last few months. But I know that they have laid very solid foundations from which we can help our subject areas to flourish in the weeks and months ahead, as the college helps the economy recover at this time.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to wish Hannah Ritchie well in her new role at Lews Castle College in Stornoway.”
