Two industry professionals from Johnstone’s Paint/ PPG were happy to give a colourful guest lecture to Forth Valley College painting and decorating students recently (Tuesday 23 May).
First and second year Modern Apprentices packed into a classroom to hear James Surtees and Robbie Kennedy talk about their experiences.
FVC Painting and Decorating Lecturer Graeme Williamson, said:
“It is extremely valuable for the MAs to hear first-hand what it is like in the workplace and this guest lecture was perfect for them to gain advice and learn about what awaits them. They also had a chance to ask questions at the end and pick the brains of James and Robbie, who were both brilliant on the day. We can’t thank them enough for coming in and we are sure it will have benefited the students enormously.”
James Surtees, from Johnstone’s Paint/PPG, said:
“Engaging with the young people who will form the future of the decorating industry is important to PPG and to see the enthusiasm of the students and quality of the work achieved is a credit to both the students and Forth Valley College.”
