A special online information session has helped teachers and guidance staff to understand what Forth Valley College has to offer young people leaving school.
Held on Thursday 2 November, the event was aimed at teachers, careers advisors and school staff to help them learn more about the range of courses and student support offered at FVC.
Beginning at 4pm via Zoom the event offered various sessions throughout the afternoon and early evening, delivered by key college staff members covering a range of topics, including:
- Recruitment & Selection
- Support and Guidance
- Access, Community and Supported Programmes
- Apprenticeship Opportunities
- Degree Programmes
- School College Partnership Courses
Those attending also had an opportunity for questions at the end of each session.
Helen Young, FVC’s Director of Curriculum for the Department of Care, Sport, Business and Communities welcomed those attending with some opening remarks and also delivered the vote of thanks.
She said: “Everyone here at Forth Valley College is very proud of the extremely positive relationships we have built up with our local schools. I am sure all the teachers and guidance staff who attended the event ended the day with some very useful takeaways about what Forth Valley College has to offer, and we hope they will enthusiastically pass this information on to their colleagues and pupils.”
