Students without access to lap-tops have benefited from a Forth Valley College scheme to deliver devices to their homes during lockdown.

Around 360 laptops have been reconstituted by the IT Department and made ready for use by students living across Forth Valley, who previously did not have use of the machines at home.

Several members of FVC Support Staff have been involved in delivering the lap-tops to students eager to catch up with coursework during the current situation working online from home.

David Gentles, FVC Learning Resource Assistant, who was involved in the delivery process, said: “I'm afraid a social distance selfie was a wee bit beyond my skill level lol, but I managed to get this one of me after I had delivered a lap-top to delighted student Rachel Wilson.”

David Allison, FVC’s Vice Principal Information Systems and Communications, said: “We wanted to make sure that no one would be disadvantaged by having to work online from home during the lockdown and our IT, Learning and Teaching and Student Support Departments – as well as some lecturers - have stepped up to the plate to get these laptops out to the students who need them most at this time. I am very proud of them all.”
