A group of 13 – which included Forth Valley College support staff, lecturers and students from various departments - completed the 46 mile Pedal for Scotland from Glasgow to Ingliston near Edinburgh on Sunday 11 September.
The team was made up of both beginners and experts, but despite the range of abilities, they all finished - which was a real achievement. The group also raised money for various charities.
Carol Crawford, FVC’s Examinations Coordinator in Information Services who took part, said:
“While we all felt very proud of ourselves for what we achieved we could not have done it without the support of the College, namely Pauline Donaldson and Wai Mun Lee, and the support of the Stirling Cycle Hub. They all ensured we were well prepared and arranged training events, transportation and even Forth Valley College Cycling shirts for us, among all the other small details which ensured that the event ran smoothly.
“We were blessed with great weather, and the sense of camaraderie was fantastic, we were all buzzing by the end of the day. I felt it was a great team building event and it was great to meet and partake in the event with other members of staff. I am unsure whether I would do it again, however once the soreness wears off you never know!”
