Forth Valley College’s Human Resources Department have narrowly missed out on a prestigious S1 Jobs award.
This year’s awards ceremony was held at Glasgow’s DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Thursday 11 April, and FVC were down to the last five in the category of HR Team of the Year. They were up against Early Years Scotland, SMS PLC, Sodexo and Zonal Retail Data System.
The Alloa Campus based HR Department – which is relatively new in its current form – is a dedicated team which over the past year has developed the college’s People Strategy (2017-2022), helped FVC become a Carer Engaged Employer, signed the Forces Covenant, launched a ‘Listening to Employees’ forum and implemented a new bespoke Management and Leadership programme for staff.
Ralph Burns, Head of FVC’s Human Resources Department, said: “It was a great experience to have our team nominated and this recognition will no doubt inspire the HR Department to even greater success in the future. I am very proud of them all.
“The nomination for HR Team of the Year has followed outstanding team work from every member of the HR Team over the past year and beyond. That this recognition comes through working together is particularly poignant, as we identify that as a team we are only successful due the support we give each other and through our relationships with staff in the wider college.”
Andrew Lawson, Depute Principal and Chief Operating Officer at FVC, said: “I am very proud of the HR team. They are very committed to helping our college be the best it can be and they all work extremely hard to a consistently high standard. They thoroughly deserved this nomination and the recognition that goes along with it.”
