A sell-out Fairtrade Quiz night proved to be a real success at FVC’s Falkirk Campus on Friday 16 March.
Forming part of the College’s recent Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations, but postponed due to the snowy weather at the beginning of the month, the event attracted 80 eager participants (13 teams) between 6-9pm, for what proved to be a keenly contested quiz.
Prizes were awarded and raffles were also won on the night and the cost of the table included a Fairtrade buffet and a glass of Fairtrade wine or fruit juice.
The winners were ‘Willie Wonkers’ (pictured) with Charlie Smith from the Engineering Department as Team Captain, who came in with a total score of 171 points
Lisa Hachemi, International Support Co-ordinator and also the coordinator of the College’s Fair Trade Committee, said: “This was yet another great event and very well attended by staff, students and the community. We would like to thank everyone who came along on the night. We would like to thank Jim Davidson the quizmaster of the evening and the Hospitality Department’s students and staff for preparing a fabulous Fairtrade buffet and running the bar.
“It was once again a great way to raise awareness of Fairtrade products and Fair Trade ethos. Forth Valley College was Scotland’s first College to be awarded Fairtrade Status back in March 2011, we are proud to be able to support Fairtrade Fortnight every year and promote Fairtrade throughout the year.”
