A delegation of educationalists from Finland visited Forth Valley College’s Stirling Campus on Friday 18 March.
The visit was part of a Scotland wide Finnish Education Evaluation Centre trip hosted by Education Scotland.
Stewart Maxwell and Karen Corbett from Education Scotland led the seven strong Finnish group and they were welcomed by Andrew Lawson FVC Associate Principal & Executive Director, HR and Operational Effectiveness, who gave a short presentation and overview of the College.
Ian Morrison, Head of FVC’s Department of Construction delivered a presentation of curriculum offered at the Stirling Campus and showcased examples of vocational partnership work with Historic Environment Scotland. Ernie Romer, FVC’s Schools Provision Coordinator highlighted the schools/college partnership and detailed examples of progression.
Head of Creative Industries Martin Boyle led a tour of the campus – pointing out the state-of-the-art and innovative facilities in his department - before handing over to Ian Morrison who showed off the Historic Environment Scotland workshops.

They were particularly keen to find out about our evaluation procedures and methods and seemed very impressed with our state-of-the-art sound production facilities and our partnership with Historic Environment Scotland.”
