A workshop session from Stirling and Clackmannanshire Early Education Service provided students with advice on how to apply for jobs.
Carolyn Love and Susan Goodman visited the Stirling Campus on Tuesday 19 April and gave the presentation with the aim of preparing the HNC Early Education and Childcare students, for employment as Early Years Practitioners within Stirling and Clackmannanshire Councils.
Care, Health and Sport Curriculum Manager, Jeanette McCulloch, said:
“The workshop included activities to support the application and interview process. This will help students improve their chances of securing an interview and will provide them with key hints and tips on identifying key skills and attributes and help them prepare for interview.
“The workshops focused on the local authority’s application, shortlisting and interview process which is currently open to applications. The session also included key information on the Early Years establishments within each local authority and included key interview techniques. Student feedback was that these sessions were very beneficial in preparing for next steps.”

“In Stirling and Clackmannanshire Education Service we are committed to engaging with our future workforce at the earliest possible stage. Staff from our existing workforce support the students throughout their courses with these final sessions serving as a final preparation for moving from further education into our early years settings. Having time to meet with the students before the interview process, allows us to get to know them and to set the scene for expectations of practitioners joining our authority.”
