Workstart Group in the courtyard

A group of Workstart students based in the Forth Valley College Falkirk Campus are coming up with courtyard creations to brighten a fantastic open space.

A total of eight students have been making colourful and bright bug hotels in their class, to be positioned in one of the three Falkirk courtyards and Neeruta Bhandari (20), Connor Macdonald (17), Max Jacewicz (18) and Billy Blue Stirling (17), were keen to show off their work with lecturer Kayleigh Bradley.

Neeruta Bhandari, said: “We’ve been enjoying making these bug hotels. I really get a lot out of this course – like going on the organised trips – and I am looking forward to the rest of it.”

Max Jacewicz, said: “We are now planning an ‘Amenity Area’ here in the courtyard, where we will be planting flowers. I also enjoy this course and would recommend it to other people.”

Lecturer Kayleigh Bradley, pictured on right of the photograph, said: “The group have been working so hard on their projects and are really enjoying getting out of the classroom and getting the chance to be creative. They are a pleasure to teach. I can’t wait to see what they manage to create by the end of term.”
