Forth Valley College has just missed out on winning a prize at the 2024 Scottish Veterans Awards.
FVC was one of four finalists in the Charity Sector Employer of the Year category (sponsored by Prestonfield House) at the awards ceremony, which was held on Wednesday 24 April at the five star Prestonfield House in Edinburgh. Zak Stark Head of Commercial Training and Delivery and Alistair McKean Training and Business Development Manager represented the College at the ceremony.
The event was hosted by Radio DJ for British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) Scotland presenter Mark McKenzie, who revealed Scotland's Bravest Manufacturing Company as winners on the night. The awards dinner also supported The ABF The Soldiers’ Charity Scotland.
The College were also up against two other finalists on the night: Wings For Warriors and Sight Scotland & Sight Scotland.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Veterans Awards, said: “Well done to everyone who has been shortlisted as finalists. We had hundreds of applications and the shortlisting process was extremely difficult. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who put forward nominations.
“We want to inspire our future service leavers that great things can happen. It’s you who will act as role models and in some cases mentors, remember ‘Positivity breeds Positivity’.”
Kenny MacInnes, Principal of Forth Valley College, said: “Naturally we are disappointed to have just missed out on this Scottish Veterans Award. We are very proud of the recognition being shortlisted and for all the positive work we do employing and encouraging service veterans here at Forth Valley College.”
