Book Week Scotland workshops proved popular among Forth Valley College students recently.
Taking place from Monday 16 till Friday 22 November, FVC celebrated the annual event by organising two interactive online workshops for staff and students.
Dekko Comics – Interactive Session on the afternoon of Tuesday 17 November, 2pm-3pm, saw Rossie Stone present a session on his Dekko Comics initiative where he inspired students on how to create their own comic. Dekko comics are educational comics which engage with learners and are designed to overcome the learning barriers faced by many.
On the morning of Wednesday 18 November 2020 a Zine Workshop with Ryan Van Winkle was organised where students got the chance to create their own Zine (mini magazine) with the assistance of the award winning poet, writer and zine creator.
David Gentles FVC Learning Resource Assistant, said: “These two events have gone very well and everyone who took part seemed to take a lot away from the sessions. We can't thank Rossie Stone and Ryan Van Winkle enough for their efforts on the day.”
