New taster courses in Early Education or Childcare are aiming to give a valuable insight into these fascinating careers.
Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus will be the venue for the 12 week blended learning course, which will show what it is like to work in this industry. Applicants will be required to attend four evening class sessions (on a Tuesday) between 19 January - 29 March (6-8pm) and complete online flexible learning materials to enhance their studies between classes.
FVC Early Education lecturer Gemma Dempsey, said:
“I am very excited to be teaching the Introduction to Early Education and Childcare. It is a fantastic opportunity for returning adult learners and young people alike to gain a broad understanding of what Early Education offers.
“We will cover three main topics in the evening classes - Play, Child Development and Working in an Early Education setting. A further evening class will also be devoted to looking at each individual learner’s next steps and progression route with an individualised learning plan put in place. Preparation for interview will also be offered, it is a great opportunity for progression onto one of our full time courses.”
