Skills Boost - Hospitality Refresher

Please note that due to COVID-19, this course will initially be delivered via a blended learning approach, which may include face-to-face learning in the classroom, remote learning off-campus and digital learning. When delivery is taking place on-campus, there will be reduced student numbers and physical distancing measures in place.

A fantastic opportunity to come and learn all about the licensed trade.  There is a variety of learning, both practical and theory that will prepare you for the world of work in a licensed premises.  This is an exciting, intensive short 4 week course, with a mandatory 2 week work placement at the end in the hospitality industry with our local partners.

This is the perfect course for those looking for a fast track introduction to the hospitality industry, with fantastic opportunities to get work experience and all the legislative courses you need to get a step ahead.

A career in the licensed trade – bars, restaurants, hotels, events doing a variety of roles including front of house and bar work.

No formal entry requirements, but you must be over 18 due to the licensed nature of this course. 

• An interest in working with the public, in hospitality is essential. 
• You cannot be currently employed to come on this course, or attending another college course at the same time. This is a 5 days a week, 6 week long course.

• If your application is successful, you will be invited for interview. For January start courses interviews will be in Nov/Dec and interviews for August start courses will take place between February and May
• If your application is unsuccessful, you will be offered support in finding a suitable alternative course
