Pre-apprenticeship Electrical Installation

This course provides transferable core skills, basic electrical installation competence for anyone wishing to pursue a career in Electrical Installation Contracting.

Course content includes: 

  • Health and Safety,
  • Access equipment for working at height,
  • Basic electrical Sciences,
  • Electrical installation work using varied wiring systems
  • Electrical control circuit wiring in electrical panels
  • Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Electrical mainainiance technique and planning
  • Inspection and testijng of electrical circuits and installations.

One of the following:

  • Successful completion of SECTT pre-employemnt assessment
  • N5 application of maths (min)
  • N5 communication/English

  • Selection by interview and practical activity selection centre.

• If your application is successful, you will be invited for interview. For January start courses interviews will be in Nov/Dec and interviews for August start courses will take place between February and May
• If your application is unsuccessful, you will be offered support in finding a suitable alternative course
• Applicants who provide a mobile phone number on their application form will be sent a text reminder prior to the day of interview
