Information for Pupils

If you are in S5 or S6, you can now do a Foundation Apprenticeship as one of your subject choices, helping you stand out from the crowd and gain the skills employers are looking for, while still at school.

There are ten course options available and they blend hands-on practical skills with academic learning, and you will also get the opportunity to experience a work placement with a local employer. There is no final exam, but you will be assessed throughout the course and on successful completion; you will receive a Foundation Apprenticeship Group Award, which is equivalent to a Higher.

A Foundation Apprenticeship could help you progress onto a Modern Apprenticeship or Graduate Apprenticeship, continue higher-level study at the College or you could even use the qualification as an entry requirement to a related university degree course.
