Forth Valley Student Association has once again joined forces with Forth Valley College and Paths For All, to launch 2024's Step Count Challenge.

An appeal has gone out to students and staff to sign up to take part and be ready for the starting date of Monday 19 February. The Challenge will run for four weeks, with some good prizes and incentives on offer for the winners.

The FVSA along with FVC’s Walking and Cycling Officer Larissa Purves and Active Travel Coordinator Aileen Webster, Student President Steve Kemlo and new FVSA Administrator Nicole Ferri, (all pictured here launching the Step Count Challenge) have also teamed up to offer a simple process guide for teams of students and staff to sign up.

Kasia Slapek, FVC student Engagement Officer, said: “We are doubling our efforts to reach a larger audience this year. The aim is to encourage as many staff and students as possible to become more active this spring. While walking, you can connect with others, improve mental health, enhance productivity and become more focused.”

Process to sign up:

  • Email: aileen.webster@forthvalley.ac.uk to add a Team Captain
  • If you are a group of friends you can set up your own team and select a Team Captain
