Forth Valley College are supporting the new national #ChooseCollege campaign to highlight the importance of Scotland’s colleges and encourage potential students to - Choose College.
Scotland’s 26 colleges have come together with one voice to support the new campaign and share positive stories of how vital colleges are to the educational, economic and community health of the country. Colleges will also show how they support industry to upskill and retrain their workers.
Organised by the CDN Marketing and Communications Network, the six-week campaign follows on from the success of #LoveScotlandsColleges in November 2020.
Choose College, the collaborative six-week social media campaign launches on Monday 8 March, running until Friday 16 April. Each week will focus on a different key theme. The key themes are:
Week commencing 8 March - Choose to Upskill
Week commencing 15 March - Choose to Retrain
Week commencing 22 March - Choose to do Something Different
Week commencing 29 March - Choose a Degree
Week commencing 5 April - Choose a Career
Week commencing 12 April - Choose an Apprenticeship
The campaign is supported by promotional videos, images, key facts and case studies. College students and staff are being encouraged to share their stories, using #ChooseCollege.
Dr Ken Thomson, Principal of Forth Valley College, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Choose College campaign and are confident it will raise even more awareness of how important the further education sector is, especially now as we start to emerge from the pandemic lockdown in what is an uncertain economic climate. But this is where colleges play an essential role to educate, retrain and upskill people and are vital to the future recovery. Forth Valley College Makes Learning Work day in and day out, and we are sure the Choose College campaign will help us to do that even more.”
