Robert steps up to run FVC running club
New FVC Running Club

A new Running Club, organised by Forth Valley College’s EPOS Coordinator – and international runner - Robert Myler, aims to improve confidence and fitness to encourage participants to enter a 10K Trail Race in Falkirk.

Robert (pictured here centre), with the help of Dean McKirdy FVC’s Active Campus Coordinator (back right) and Steve Kemlo Forth Valley Student Association President (front left), are looking for as many staff and students to attend the free sessions every Wednesday at the Falkirk Campus from 4-4.45pm. Those interested should meet at the reception area.

They trio hope to train up as many FVC staff and students as possible, with the hope that they will enter the Falkirk 10K Charity Trail Race – also organised by Robert – which will take place at Callander Park on Sunday 24 March, and will also donate money to local charities from the entry fee. More info on the Trail Race here.

Robert, a trained triathlete who represents Great Britain on the international Masters stage, said: “Whether you are new to running or experienced in running, these sessions aim to help build up participants’ confidence in running as well as provide extra training to help encourage participants to sign up to the Falkirk 10K Trail Race on Sunday 24 March. If you are interested in coming along to a session, then please meet at the main reception area at Falkirk campus at 4pm on Wednesdays.

“I am also delighted to be able to work alongside Dean McKirdy and Steve Kemlo to support the already good work happening within our College to promote healthy living. As a keen sport enthusiast I have been able to promote our Forth Valley 10K Trail race within Callander Park, and hope we can get as many staff and students to get outside by running or walking this event and at the same time improving their health and wellbeing. This might just spur you on to do more in 2024!”
