Young people will come to college and engage with a variety of activities. The aim is to transition young people into college life, location, environment, and allows lecturers to get to know their needs and levels.
Supported Transition Programme (Schools)
This course is for young people from S4 with Additional Support Needs who are looking to leave school the following year to attend college or other providers.
This year long transition course runs whilst young people are still at school and the school provides the support whilst they are at college.
At Forth Valley College we support young people with Additional Support Needs, to transition into college over a full year, whilst they continue their school journey.
Our supported transition course has two levels of learning at both level 2 and level 4, which lead onto our full time supported programmes, or other courses within the college.
These courses allow us to get to know our young people and their needs, while supporting them to settle into college life, getting to know key members of staff, and the college environment.
Enrolment onto this course is made through referrals from the school, so please contact your Support for Learning department for more details.
The deadline for applications is Friday 19 April 2024 but early applications are encouraged.
Young people will be able to move into our full time Lifestart or Workstart courses, subject to attendance and engagement. We can also offer support to apply for other college courses or suitable opportunities.
