HND Media: Production

This exciting programme will provide students with an industry standard grounding in media and communications, with a specialist focus on knowledge and skills for high end content creation across specialisms and platforms. HND Media Production students will be actively engaged in the creation, development and management of our digital platforms, while learning and developing their professional capacity and networks. This course is enhanced by regular opportunities to engage in live projects for real life clients leading to a vocational ‘industry ready’ route for anyone who wants to work in high end media content creation.

Please be aware that the SQA award achieved on completion of this course is HND Creative Industries: Media and Communication. You will also need to apply to SAAS using this course title.

    Please note articulation links are subject to change and do not guarantee a place on any university course. Students can still apply for entry to year one or two of many of these degree programmes and should check with individual universities for more detail. Each institution will have specific entry requirements.

One of the following: 

  • Two Highers including English at C or above (Modern Studies and/or Media Studies recommended but not mandatory) and four National 4 awards (or equivalent)
  • Successful completion of a relevant access course or an appropriate group of National Qualification units
  • Applicants who do not meet these criteria, but have relevant experience or alternative qualifications will be considered

  • If your application is successful, you will be invited for interview. For January start courses interviews will be in Nov/Dec and interviews for August start courses will take place between February and May
  • If your application is unsuccessful, you will be offered support in finding a suitable alternative course
