SVQ/MA Professional Cookery SCQF Level 5

This course aims to enable individuals to develop a wide range of skills to the standards required in a kitchen setting. The course will develop knowledge in regards to health, safety, hygiene, food preparation and cooking. It will also increase the commitment and motivation of staff and provide them with the opportunity to learn practical skills in a workplace setting.

• Maintain and handle Knives
• Maintain Food Safety in a Kitchen Environment

Mandatory Units for MA Candidates 
• 3 Core Skills at SCQF Level 3 and
• 2 Core Skills at SCQF Level 4

Food Hygiene Certificate (excl. Front Office and Housekeeping)
Scottish Alcohol Licensing Certificate for staff working on drink service routes within Licensed Premises

Applicants should be in full time employment with employers support to undertake the course.  A good understanding of hospitality sector would be an advantage.  Candidates undertaking these qualifications should be in positions which relate to the Course to enable them to provide work-related evidence.
