FA Business Skills (Schools) - 1 year option

***PLEASE NOTE - only pupils who will be at school during session 2024/25 can apply for this course***

This Foundation Apprenticeship is a great way to get hands-on experience and gain a qualification at the same level as a Higher. Pupils will have the unique chance to develop skills and knowledge across a range of business topics, both in the classroom and alongside the experience of a valuable work placement with an employer.

This course is not suitable for those who have already undertaken Higher Business Management or are planning to do so in the same academic year.

The deadline for applications is Friday 19 April 2024 but early applications are encouraged.

What qualifications will pupils achieve?

On successful completion, pupils will achieve a Foundation Apprenticeship (Group Award) in Business Skills at SCQF Level 6 (the same level as a Higher), which includes:

• A National Progression Award in Business with Information Technology at SCQF Level 6 (6 units)
• Four work-based units from the SVQ3 in Business and Administration (SCQF Level 6)

Pupils will attend Forth Valley College for six hours per week all year. There will also be a work placement for one day a week throughout the year and a lecturer from the College will visit them regularly to assess their competency of the work-based units.

(Please note that this course continues throughout periods of study leave from school and it is very important that pupils attend during these periods, except on exam days).
