BA Art & Design - Year Two

The BA Art and Design course is a challenging, creative and exciting three year programme that encourages students to develop their creative practice while embracing a wider understanding of the theories and context of the wider arts world.

With the vast majority of degree programmes now require you to study either Art or Design, there are no such barriers within this interdisciplinary programme.

In year two you will have the opportunity to work across a selected range of specialisms. You will carry out a variety of art and design based projects, becoming more specialist as the year progresses, supported by feedback and advice from staff. Your practical project work will support a growing critical and contextual understanding of art and design theory.

This degree is validated by the University of Stirling.

In Year two you will do the following:

  • A series of projects with given briefs that you can respond to within your chosen specialism(s)
  • A series of projects with self-generated briefs
  • Personal Investigation into an area of your choice related to your chosen discipline(s)

  • A wide range of career paths across the creative industries - including within arts organisations, education, freelance and self-employment.

  • Year three of BA Art & Design

  • Applicants will be required to submit a digital folio of recent artwork along with a written statement and may be required to attend an interview

Plus:

  • HND Art & Design Year one with Graded Unit at Grade A or B
