Foundation Apprenticeships

Foundation Apprenticeships are on offer to fifth and sixth year pupils.  They combine academic learning with hands-on practical tasks and also include work experience with a local employer. The knowledge, skills and work experience gained will help to broaden options for pupils, enabling them to go on to complete a Modern Apprenticeship, attend college/university or go directly into employment.

A Foundation Apprenticeship is the equivalent to a Higher - making it highly sought after by employers, colleges and universities.

Schools College Opportunities to Succeed (SCOTS) programme

Our Schools College Opportunities to Succeed (SCOTS) programme may be of interest to school pupils who are undecided on which subject they would like to study.  It provides pupils from S4 and above with an opportunity to explore different progression pathways at college.   Pupils are offered the chance to choose three subjects for short taster sessions and then will focus on one of these subject in order to gain a Level 4 SVQ Qualification. On completion of the SCOTS programme, we are confident pupils will have a better idea of which career path they would like to follow.

The SCOTS programme is only available to pupils from schools based in Falkirk and Stirling.

For further information and to apply, pupils should speak to a member of staff at their school.
