The College Day

  • Our campuses open at 8am during term time, with first classes starting at 9am

  • College campuses are public buildings, so non-students may also be using the facilities throughout the day

  • Free breakfast available to all students

  • Classes run from 9am to 4.30pm, with a morning break and a lunch break

  • Class durations are typically 55 minutes or 1 hour 50 minutes

  • You will get at least 55 minutes for lunch

  • You can bring your own food or visit our refectories, which serve lunch from 12pm to 2pm

  • Free soup and roll available at lunchtime for all students

  • Each campus has breakout spaces for socialising and studying

  • Outdoor spaces are also available for use

  • Full-time students should expect 16 hours of classes per week (excluding work placements)

  • Work placements are in addition to these hours

  • Apprentices follow a different schedule — check with your Curriculum Manager or Apprenticeship Officer

  • Be prepared to adjust other commitments to fit your timetable
