Funding for Employers
The Scottish Funding Council (SFC) has introduced a new Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF) for 2026/27, alongside two additional funding streams, Raising Income through Skills & Education (RISE) and the Training Access Fund (TAF).
These programmes are designed to support workforce development, skills training and employability, helping individuals progress into work, remain in employment, or increase their earning potential.
Eligibility
Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF)
Who is eligible?
Employees earning less than £33,000 per year, who also meet one of the following criteria:
- Have a child under 18 living at home
- Are aged 24 or under
- Care-experienced individual under the age of 30
- Disabled individual under the age of 30
What does it support?
Employer-led training that helps employees:
- Develop new skills
- Progress in their careers
- Increase their earnings
Funding available
- Up to £15,000 per employer
- Up to £5,000 per learner
