Students at Forth Valley College are being encouraged to get their lecturers involved in the upcoming SOS-UK SDG Teach In 2026, taking place during the whole of March.
Run by ‘Students Organising for Sustainability UK (SOS-UK)’ since 2018, the SDG Teach In - SDG Teach In - SOS UK #SDGTeachIn is open to all educators, trainers, and workplace learning facilitators who work with all ages of learners in formal/informal education providers around the world.
They hope to do this by embedding the THE 17 GOALS | Sustainable Development into teaching across all disciplines.
The organisers are asking the question of students: Do you want to your education to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive difference to society? Then help get your teachers involved with the 9th annual SDG Teach In 1st to 31st March 2026!
What is the SDG Teach In?
A decade of research has shown that the majority of students would like to see sustainable development built into their education. The ultimate goal of the Teach In is to ensure that learners of all ages are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values to be the change they want to see in the world.
What has been achieved so far?
Since 2018, the SDG Teach In has reached nearly 600,000 students across 50 countries, with over 1000+ educators who pledged to take part in 2025.

“Having worked closely with curriculum and operations managers over the past month to map curriculum to the SDGs, it’s clear that sustainability is already embedded across learning and teaching. The SDG Teach-In provides an excellent opportunity to highlight this work, deepen our commitment, and inspire even more staff and students to integrate global goals into their practice.”
Larissa Purves, FVC’s Walking and Cycling Officer, said “I am excited to be involved in SDG Teach-In for 2026. I enjoyed taking part last year, delivering activities such as a littler pick with students, supporting to them to clean up the local environment. I also helped to encourage students to pledge their participation during March.”
Rory Hill, FVC’s Sustainability Project Manager, said: “The Teach In is a great chance to recognise the hard work of our staff and how sustainability is central to this work, regardless of subject or department. In previous years, staff have often been surprised by how much of their work already contributes to the SDGs.”
Brian Banks, FVC VLE End User Support Officer, said: “By embedding sustainability learning into MetaLearn - with every activity mapped to a UN Sustainable Development Goal - we’re helping learners build awareness of the SDGs while developing the skills to make informed, responsible decisions, both personally and professionally.”
