The clock is ticking for Forth Valley College students and others from across Scotland’s colleges, to apply for £25,000 prize fund to help get early-stage business ideas off the ground.
Applications for the fund close at noon on 16 February, after which ten prizes of £2,500 will be awarded to the student-led projects which show the most promise.
Designed to help college students take their first steps towards entrepreneurship, the College Creators Fund also offers business training and the opportunity to join a cohort of like-minded students also embarking on their entrepreneurial journey.
“Innovation can be found in everyday life,” said Adam Kosterka, executive director of Converge, which is organising the Fund. “It can be smart solutions, faster services or everyday improvements. We’ve had a great response so far to this call and I’d encourage any college student with an innovative idea to submit their proposal.”
More information on the College Creators Fund can be found at www.convergechallenge.com/college-creators-fund. Applications close on 16 February, and successful applicants will be invited to a training day in Edinburgh on 17 March.
The College Creators Fund is financed by the Scottish Government.
