FVC MA Presented With George Hall Award By Ineos WEB

Jamie McCaffery, from Larbert has won the Ineos George Hall award for Modern Apprentice of the Year 2025.

A former pupil of Larbert High School, Jamie (21) - who also trains at Forth Valley College's Falkirk Campus - was nominated by his supervisors and mentors for his professional attitude, personal drive, and passion for learning.

This award is extra special as it commemorates George Hall, a much-loved Ineos employee who dedicated nearly four decades to the Granegmouth site. George’s family generously donated this award in his memory to celebrate apprentices who truly excel.

Jamie said: "I’m extremely proud to receive this award. The apprenticeship programme at Ineos KG has given me the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in the industry. Their guidance and support have been crucial in helping me develop my skills and confidence.

"I would like to thank my tradesmen, colleagues, and everyone involved in the programme for their encouragement and commitment to my development. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue building my expertise and contributing to the success of the team as I work towards qualifying as a mechanical technician.”

The award was presented in the presence of George’s widow, Jane, and son, Chris. Jane said: "George strongly believed in the value of apprenticeships, and I know he would have been so proud to see Jamie’s hard work recognised."

Les Bond, asset manager if Ineos Chemicals Grangemouth, said: “Each year we recognise an apprentice who has excelled in every aspect of their training. Jamie is a worthy winner. His attitude and commitment impressed his supervisors and mentors at Forth Valley College and during his placements on our manufacturing site.

"As we progress towards our Net Zero roadmap, nurturing talent is critical. All our apprentices will play an integral role in the future success of our business and of the Grangemouth site.”

Lorna Allison, FVC Apprenticeship Officer, said: “Throughout his apprenticeship Jamie has always conducted himself in a manner to be proud of, providing support and assistance to his peers when required, always respectful in college, and an excellent team member.  He is a very worthy winner of this special award and it has been a privilege to work with him during his time as an apprentice.  I wish Jamie every success in his future career.”
