Fun, freebies, stalls and activities attracted students to Forth Valley College’s three campuses in Falkirk, Stirling and Alloa for the newly launched series of fairs over Forth Valley Student Association’s (FVSA) ‘Welcome Week’.
Taking over from the annual Freshers’ Fair, Welcome Week was packed with information and advice stalls, opportunities, clubs, societies and entertainment. The Fairs – held on Tuesday 10 September (Alloa), Wednesday 11 September (Stirling) and Thursday 12 September (Falkirk) – were organised by Forth Valley Student Association (FVSA) and had something to offer for students of all tastes and interests.
Elena Strachan, FVSA Student President, said: “Our first ever Welcome Fairs went really well. We were delighted with the reaction, response and attendance from the new Forth Valley College students this year. Feedback has been very encouraging and positive, and we are now looking forward to delivering our programme of activities throughout the academic year. A big thank you to all the stall-holders, staff and students who made these events such a success.”
Katarzyna Slapek, FVSA Student Engagement Coordinator, said: “It was wonderful to meet both new and returning students, whose enthusiasm and interest in getting involved with the Student Association was truly inspiring. It was fantastic to see them engaging with stalls, asking questions, and eager to participate in the various activities offered across all campuses. Thanks to everyone who helped with making this event successful and thanks to all colleagues who guided students to attend the Welcome Fair this year.”
