Forth Valley Student Association’s Welcome Week will welcome the innovative anti-stigma charity ‘See Beyond’ for the first time at its three campus events organised for students from Tuesday 4-6 February.
Launched in 2023 ‘See Beyond – See the Lives – Scotland’ is an anti-stigma campaign which shares intimate and powerful stories from family members and friends, who have lost a loved one due to alcohol and/or drug use.
They provide an opportunity to challenge stigma around alcohol and drug use and inspire meaningful change in local communities.
Their ‘Roadshow’ style stall will be present at the three Welcome Week events Tuesday 4 February at the Stirling Campus from 10am-2pm, Wednesday 4 February at the Alloa Campus from 10am-1pm, and Thursday 6 February at the Falkirk Campus from 10am-2pm.
The See Beyond stall will allow students to:
- Explore campaign materials including postcards and video content featuring real life stories
- Engage with team members and learn how to seek support
- Be part of the conversation to break stigma around substance use.
