A Net Zero event at Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus has been organised to help small businesses involved in the Plumbing and Heating industry, to transition to the low carbon heat marketplace.
The event – entitled Net Zero: Secure Your Future - aims to provide a platform for as many small plumbing firms in the Forth Valley area to come along to meet and network with stakeholders within the industry, so they can prepare themselves for a world where renewable energy becomes more dominant than gas central heating.
Attending on the day – between 3pm-6pm - will be a series of insightful presentations and trade, wholesaler and technology provider stands, as well as networking area for trades professionals to make important contacts.
Those attending include: Warmworks, SNIPEF, Energy Saving Trust and officals from various local authorities. Forth Valley College representatives will be presenting on the Modern Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship programmes, as well as giving information on the commercial training that is offered at the College.
Other presentations will cover ‘The Journey to Net Zero’ and the impact it will have on business, funding opportunities and the support Forth Valley College can provide in building business confidence.
William Forrest, Operations Manager for STEM/Construction and Curriculum Manager for Plumbing and Electrical Contracting, said: “This event provides an excellent opportunity for all our micro and small business owners to come together and speak to each other. They will hear from key stakeholders, industry partners and funding bodies on the business impact of the decarbonisation of heating systems, as our industry journeys toward the net zero future, and as an active partner Forth Valley College can provide support on this journey.”
