NQ Child, Health and Social Care Early Years group enlisted the help local primary pupils to help them complete part of their course recently.
The students planned and carried out play experiences for their ‘Working with Others’ and ‘Play for Children and Young People’ units on Tuesday 28 January, and invited two primary one classes from Victoria Primary School to join them in the Antonine Suite.
A total of 21 NQ students and approximately 42 primary one children along with Victoria Primary teachers and support staff, were in attendance and play experiences included biscuit decorating, lava lamps, painting and playdough.
Aileen Stewart, FVC Assessor and Lecturer, said: “The event on Tuesday was a great success, the students planned well and were enthusiastic to work with the primary children. It was good to see the students putting their learning into practice and see their confidence grow as the morning went on. The children were excited to attend the College event and are happy to hear that they are coming back again. As their lecturer I was very proud of all students involved in the event and I too am looking forward to the next one in early March.”
