FVC Attends ‘Hazardex In The Regions Grangemouth’ Event

Forth Valley College’s CompEx expertise was showcased at the influential HazardEx in the Regions event held in Grangemouth recently.

The Macdonald Inchyra Hotel was the venue on Wednesday 18 June for the event where FVC hosted an information stall staffed by Danielle Wiseman, the College’s CompEx Centre Manager (SCT) and Amy Hay FVC CompEx Trainer.

HazardEx in the Regions: Grangemouth, consisted of a conference programme including high-profile speakers presenting essential guidance and insight of local and national relevance, as well as a table-top exhibition area comprising leading high hazard industry-related companies showcasing their latest products and services.

Alistair McKean, FVC’s Training and Business Development Manager, said: “Dream team Danielle and Amy took time out of a busy delivery schedule at one of the world’s busiest and most successful CompEx training centres, to attend HazardEx conference at the Inchyra Hotel, proudly representing Forth Valley College.”

Danielle, said: “HazardEx is a brilliant platform where we can showcase what the College provides in regards to hazardous area training and business support. It provided an opportunity to catch up with previous candidates as well as discuss potential opportunities to collaborate with new companies and equipment manufacturers.”

Amy, added: “HazardEx was an excellent opportunity to meet new and existing candidates and promote the wide range of courses the College offers outwith CompEx. 

“It is important that as a centre we remain up to date with the newest developments in technology and standards, and HazardEx provided an insight into the newest technology available for use in the hazardous area sector which we will be showcasing on our CompEx courses.”

The College is the premier sector-leading provider of Hazardous Area Safety Training located in Central Scotland. FVC offer nine CompEx courses including: Foundation, Gas and Vapours, Mechanical, Recognised Practitioners, Dust, Design, Responsible Persons and Water Utilities, and all are crucial to help the development of a competent and highly skilled workforce.

More than 1000 candidates attend the state-of-the-art FVC CompEx Training Centre every year, providing some of the highest feedback scores and pass rates of any centre.
