Forth Valley College have launched an ambitious new five-year strategic plan for 2025-30, setting out a bold vision for the future.

The key document will form the basis of the College’s aims and goals for the next five years and provides a focused roadmap for achieving excellence in education and skills and ensuring the College’s position as a sector leader.

The College actively engaged with a diverse range of stakeholders, including staff, students, partners, and employers, to develop the plan and ensure it addressed the needs and priorities of all involved.

The launch represents a significant milestone for Forth Valley College Principal Kenny MacInnes, as it marks his first strategic plan since assuming the role of Principal and CEO in May 2023.

Principal Kenny MacInnes, said: “As we look to the future with confidence and purpose, I am delighted to share our new Strategic Plan for 2025–2030—a roadmap to our future success.

“At the heart of this plan is our new purpose: to deliver excellence in education and skills that are transformational for our students and partners. Our aim is clear: to place our students and partners at the centre of all we do. We will empower individuals and communities through innovative, inclusive, and forward-thinking education. By equipping our students with relevant knowledge and skills, we are shaping a future where everyone can achieve their full potential.

“Alongside this, we are guided by our new values. I want to ensure that our values are our guiding principles and underpin our organisational culture and decision making. To deliver our purpose and be successful we must inspire, act with integrity, be inclusive, and be respectful. For me these values form the foundation of our decisions and actions, and enables us to create a positive and supportive environment where everyone can flourish and succeed.

“Our strategic aims and objectives are also changing and have been designed to drive the College forward, placing our students and our people first and foremost in all we do, but also to ensure we are innovative in our thinking to ensure we transform to a sustainable future. This strategic plan will stretch us as an organisation, but it needs to be this way if we are to move forward and be successful and sustainable in a difficult and challenging environment. We need to push ourselves if we want to be excellent and the Board of Management, I and the senior team believe this plan is the focus and direction of travel we need.

“With a strong commitment to collaboration and inclusivity, we have engaged with staff, students, and a wide range of our community stakeholders in developing our new strategy. Their input has been invaluable in ensuring our strategy is fit for purpose and meets the needs of individuals and our local communities and contributes significantly to strengthening Scotland’s economy.

“Looking ahead, we will continue to work closely with schools, universities, and industry partners to create a wide range of exciting opportunities. Together, we will deliver an impact that reaches far beyond the classroom.

“Forth Valley College is dedicated to leading, inspiring, and transforming lives —building a culture where every individual feels empowered to excel. Through this shared vision, we will shape a brighter future for all and remain the college that our communities, employers, and region need—today and in the years to come.”

Dr Abhishek Agarwal, Chair of the Forth Valley Board of Management, said: "We are proud to unveil our bold and comprehensive Strategic Plan 2025-2030, a dynamic blueprint that will guide us over the next five years. This plan embodies innovation, collaboration, inclusivity, and inspiration. Together with my fellow board members, I eagerly anticipate working alongside Kenny MacInnes, the Principal, and the entire College team to help implement the plan's clearly defined goals and objectives.

“As Chair of the Forth Valley Board of Management, I have witnessed firsthand the remarkable operations of the College.
