Funding from the Scottish Book Trust has allowed Forth Valley College to organise at least three events for staff and students during Book Week Scotland 2025 (17-23 November).
Renowned professional comic book artist Tom Foster (pictured) will be visiting the FVC Stirling Campus on Friday 21 November, to deliver an interactive talk in the Kildean Suite from 2pm-3pm.

During the session, he will provide a presentation, demonstrate his drawing and provide the opportunity for students to develop their own creative skills. Tom will also be available for a question and answer session at the end of the workshop and students and staff are encouraged to come along and unleash their creativity and imagination!
Tom will also be will also be delivering in class activities at the Alloa Campus as part of Book Week Scotland, but due to his availability, this will take place the week after the week long national event, with a specifics date yet to be confirmed.
Katie White (also pictured), professional author, screenwriter and former FVC staff member, will also return to the Falkirk Campus on Thursday 20 November – from 9am-1am in the Antonine Suite – this year focussing on ‘Scottish Stories’.
Nuala Scott, FVC Learning Skills and Resource Assistant, who is heavily involved in organising Book Week Scotland events at the College, said: “This year Katie will take a look at ‘When COVID shut us down in Central Scotland...where were you, who were you with, what happened and so on'. We would like to encourage responses in writing, poetry, art, music or whatever is preferred. And we will try and pull together all the responses and place them into an anthology of the day's discussion.”
