Content
The topics covered in this course are as follows:
- Understand the basic principles of how fires start, develop, and spread
- Recognise common workplace fire hazards and how to reduce or prevent them
- Understand fire safety legislation and individual responsibilities in maintaining compliance
- Appreciate the importance of good housekeeping and fire prevention practices
- Know how to respond safely in the event of a fire, including raising the alarm and evacuating
- Understand when and how to use basic fire-fighting equipment, only where appropriate
