A basic first aid course focusing on life-threatening paediatric emergencies. This course equips you with the knowledge and skills to respond to paediatric emergencies. Through practical exercises, you will learn lifesaving techniques and build confidence in applying them.

This 1-day course equips you with the knowledge and skills to respond to paediatric emergencies. Through practical exercises, you will learn lifesaving techniques and build confidence in applying them.

The role & responsibilities of an emergency paediatric first aider:

Assessing an emergency situation
Dealing with an unresponsive infant or child
Recovery position
Paediatric CPR and defibrillation (AED)
Choking
Seizures
External bleeding
Hypovolaemic shock
Minor injuries
Burns & scalds
Bites & stings

This is a hands on course that includes physical elements such as demonstrating CPR on a manikin. You will also be required to kneel on the floor to carry out the practical assessments and we would ask that you dress accordingly.

Certification

On successful completion, you will receive a First Aid Emergency Paediatric Certificate, valid for 3 years.
